CTE: The First Week Back
Agricultural Science students started familiarizing themselves with the barn, including scale equipment…
…which they then used to weigh Richard. (If you guessed ‘1,965 pounds,’ you’re exactly right.)
Automotive Technology students spent some time getting to know where everything is in the lab at Magnus Center.
Second-year Construction Trades students started cleaning up the tool trailer to get it ready for deployment at the next build site…
…but still managed to find time to strike a pose.
Students in the Criminal Justice program got a quick review of social distancing that doubled as a physical training lineup.
Digital Media students enjoyed unwrapping some new equipment for their lab…
…before setting the gear up per Instructor Jim Langley’s directions.
Chef Heidi Rocha spent some time going through the CTE Student Handbook with her Culinary Arts students.
Instructor Margaret Bailey led her Education Occupations students in a get-to-know-you exercise during a mask break.
Heading back to school usually involves a bit of a refresher, an overview of rules and regulations and an overall ‘getting-to-know-you’ vibe. This is especially true in 2020. As CTE students showed up for their first week of classes, the watchword was ‘safety.’ But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a little room for some patented CTE hands-on experiences.
