EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN: CTE Summer Camp has something for everyone
EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN:
CTE Summer Camp has something for everyone
Maybe it was collecting soil samples in Agricultural Science. Or perhaps it was rotating tires in Automotive Tech. Could’ve been dusting for prints in Criminal Justice. No matter what it was, 2021’s CTE Summer Camp offered experiences with variety, depth and fun.
The camp, which ran June 21 through 23 at CTE’s classrooms and labs, gave dozens of local kids in grades 7 through 11 a look at potential career choices while delivering actual, real-world training. Students in Babysitting Boot Camp learned the ins and outs of taking care of children. Kids in Digital Media designed art that would be turned into laser-engraved mementos to take home. Construction Trades not only gave young folks instruction on how to swing a hammer, but the chance to create cool and colorful epoxy-filled drink coasters. And Culinary Arts showed kids how to safely measure, mix and bake some tasty treats.
